Jesus Christ was tempted in every way that we are...
Hebrews 4:15-16 He was tempted in every way that we are, but he did not sin. Let us, then, feel very sure that we can come before God’s throne where there is grace. There we can receive mercy and grace to help us when we need it
His Word Revealed
As I was driving back to the house with my daughter, I was pondering business strategies and the possible people I would meet and become friends with. As a Christian single woman with a child, I consider all that in the way I do things.
I desire to help everyone who wants to be helped by me. However, there are many temptations out in the world. The word of the Lord reminds us that we are in the world (physically), but we are not of the world ( spiritually). “John 17:14-16”
I immediately thought of all my weaknesses that I am aware of. Then I thought about Jesus again. Specifically, Hebrews 4:15-16. I was in awe of Jesus all over again.
You’re probably wondering why. Well, let me start by saying Jesus was fully man and fully God. But let’s focus on the fully man part. As a human male grows and matures, he experiences bodily functions, which are out of his control. Let me just say it that way.
Jesus was surrounded by sinners who dealt with things like me and you. There were women surrounding him. If you are a famous person, what do we know about humans? Many of us throw ourselves at those individuals, not necessarily to trap them, but are awestruck with them and not only that but fantasize about them. This goes for males also. Homosexuality is NOT a new thing. That’s just the sexual aspect.
Now let’s go to all the meetings Jesus had in people’s homes. There was definitely drinking and other herbs involved. Why do I say that because? The word of the Lord lets us know there is nothing new under the sun. (Ecclesiastes 1:9) Humans have a bad habit of repeating things. We just put a new label on the same thing.
Let me tell you, Jesus helped me to see a whole visual of these temptations in my mind.
At the end of all of that, I had to pray. Jesus, give me the mind of Jesus.
Then Jesus reminded me why it was so important for him to go to the Father every day—not only for instruction but also for refreshment.
He said it is important for you and me to do the same thing. (Galatians 5:24)
